Sunday Morning – Sabbath

/🌿 Rest Is Sacred. So Are You.

A Sunday Morning Message from Nadine Thompson

Serene Sunday morning — golden light, herbal tea, journal and lavender on a peaceful windowsill

Good morning, Soul Sisters.

Today is Sunday. And Sunday has a different kind of energy — if we let it.

Not the energy of productivity. Not the energy of hustle, of checking boxes, of proving our worth through output. Sunday carries the energy of restoration — the sacred, unhurried invitation to simply be. To breathe. To receive. To remember who you are beneath all the doing.

I want to talk to you today about rest. Not as a reward you earn after you’ve worked hard enough. Not as laziness dressed up in spiritual language. But rest as a discipline. Rest as an act of radical self-love. Rest as the very thing that makes everything else possible.

The Sabbath Was Made for You

There is ancient wisdom in the idea of Sabbath — a day set apart. A day where the world’s demands are gently set down, and the soul is given permission to exhale. Every great tradition, every culture across time, has understood something that our modern world keeps trying to forget: we were not made to go without ceasing.

The earth rests. The seasons rest. Even the most fertile soil needs a fallow season to replenish what it has given. And yet we — especially we as women, as mothers, as entrepreneurs, as caregivers, as community builders — so often treat rest as something we’ll get to eventually. When the list is done. When the business grows. When everyone else is taken care of.

But here is what I know to be true: you cannot pour from an empty vessel. You cannot nurture others from a place of depletion. You cannot build something beautiful and lasting when you are running on fumes.

Rest is not the opposite of purpose. Rest is purpose.

What Rest Really Looks Like

Elegant botanical affirmation — soft ivory, gold, and lavender tones for a sacred Sunday morning

Rest doesn’t always look like sleep, though sleep is a gift. Sometimes rest looks like a long, unhurried bath with our Soul Purpose Body Soak — letting the therapeutic salts and essential oils melt away the weight of the week, transforming your bathroom into a sanctuary. Sometimes it looks like sitting in the quiet with a warm cup of tea and your journal, letting your thoughts settle like leaves on still water.

Sometimes rest looks like saying no to one more obligation so you can say yes to yourself.

Sometimes it looks like stepping outside and standing in your garden — watching your plants grow without needing to do anything at all — and remembering that growth doesn’t always require your effort. Sometimes it just requires your presence.

This Sunday, I invite you to choose one act of intentional rest. One moment that belongs entirely to you. Not earned. Not scheduled around everyone else. Just yours.

Your Sunday Affirmation

“I give myself full permission to rest today. My worth is not measured by my productivity. In stillness, I am restored. In rest, I am renewed. I trust that what is meant for me will not pass me by while I take care of my soul. I am enough — right now, exactly as I am. Today, I choose peace.”

Read it again. Slowly. Let it settle into your spirit.

A Sunday Ritual for Your Soul

If you want to make this Sabbath truly sacred, here is a simple ritual to carry you through the day:

Morning — Begin with stillness before you reach for your phone. Five minutes of quiet. Five minutes of gratitude. Let the day come to you gently.

Midday — Draw a warm bath with our Body Soak in Island Ambrosia or Be Well. Light a candle. Let the restorative salts and essential oils do what they were made to do — bring you back to yourself.

Afternoon — Step outside if you can. Feel the sun. Touch the earth. Remember that you are part of something living and growing and beautiful.

Evening — Close the day with intention. Smooth our CBD Body Butter into your skin — a ritual of care, of tenderness, of telling your body thank you for carrying you through another week.

Rest is not something you fall into at the end of the day when you have nothing left. Rest is something you choose — with intention, with love, with the full understanding that you are worth tending to.

“You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody.” — Maya Angelou

Happy Sabbath, soul sisters. You are loved. You are seen. You are enough.
